Ryan Hargrave is an experienced attorney, having sat on both sides of the table as a prosecutor and criminal defense attorney. He began his career as an Assistant District Attorney, leading prosecution cases related to fish games, and Driving While Impaired matters. He has also defended clients facing serious crimes, to include sex-based offenses and drug trafficking offenses, in both the District and Superior Courts in North Carolina. He also served as the Head of the Criminal Division, Chief Administrative Officer, and Lead Trial Attorney at Triad Legal Group, Inc., where he represented parents in Civil Court custody matters and Criminal District and Superior Court matters. Ryan currently partners with Knicole Emanuel and Todd Yoho in our Healthcare Law practice, helping hospitals and healthcare organizations navigate and avoid compliance problems and achieve successful resolution in the event that such issues arise.
Ryan is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, Forsyth County Bar and American Inns of Court, and is licensed to practice in both State and Federal Courts. Ryan earned his bachelor’s degree from Presbyterian College, where he was a Division 1 scholarship athlete serving on the Men’s Basketball team all four years. Outside of work, Ryan has served as a mentor to at-risk students in Guilford County Schools (2016 to 2019) and as a volunteer coach for the Triad Basketball Association (2017 to 2018).
