RELEVANT EXPERIENCE

Prior to joining Practus, Timothy served as a partner at Dechert in their Financial Services Group. He was also a partner at Sidley Austin, focusing on Investment Funds. Timothy’s work advising Franklin Templeton on development of the world’s first blockchain-based mutual fund was recognized for “Innovation in Creating New Standards” by the Financial Times in their Most Innovative Law Firms in North America for the Practice of Law list, where Dechert was also ranked among the top five firms. 

In its 2022 edition of West Trailblazers, The American Lawyer recognized Timothy as among professionals in the region “who have moved the needle in the legal industry.” He was also recognized by The Legal 500 (US) in the areas of fintech and private equity funds, the most recent edition saying that he “is able to ‘issue spot’ like a fiend.” A past edition stated that Timothy was “accessible and helpful – he brings a global perspective to things.” Additionally, he was recognized in Chambers Global in the area of USA Investment Funds: Hedge Funds, Foreign Expert for UK. Timothy is listed in The Legal Media Group Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers for Investment Funds in both the United States and the United Kingdom.
