Steven E. Young has over 49 years of experience as a commercial litigation attorney, focusing on intellectual property, entertainment transactional matters, real estate, and general business litigation. He has conducted numerous jury and non-jury trials in both State and Federal Courts, State and Federal Appellate Courts, as well as arbitrations. Steve has extensive experience in all aspects of licensing of products such as fashion items, furniture, automotive performance products, luxury brand liquor, and other lifestyle products, involving, among other things, television and motion picture characters, sports teams and personalities, as well as original works of art. Steve is well versed in all aspects of movies and television law, including production, marketing, distribution, and publicity.
Additionally, Steve’s practice focuses on real estate litigation, including, title; escrow; broker; boundary (including easement) disputes; lateral and subjacent support disputes; purchase contract disputes, access and view disputes, construction defects and condemnation actions. He has represented clients ranging from individuals to publicly traded companies, including in shareholder and derivative litigation matters.
Steve has been awarded an AV Preeminent® Rating by Martindale-Hubbell® Peer Review, the highest rating in legal ability and ethical standards, and named to the Southern California Super Lawyers list for three consecutive years (2016-2018), a designation bestowed on only the top 5% of lawyers in Southern California. A musician from the ripe old age of 8, Steve has played the trumpet since third grade. He is a member of an 18-piece band called, (wait for it…) the Big Band of Barristers, and the LA Lawyer Philharmonic Orchestra. He is a former Board Chairman of the Petersen Automotive Museum in Los Angeles and enjoys collecting, restoring, and racing automobiles.
