Elaine Gao is an associate with experience in registered funds and mergers & acquisitions. She earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law, where she focused on transactional law. As an Associate at Practus LLP, she drafts SEC filings and board memoranda and conducts legal research on the Investment Company Act of 1940. She also prepares disclosure schedules and purchase agreements for M&A transactions. Previously, as a Summer Associate at Paul Hastings LLP, she gained experience in debt financing, energy and infrastructure, restructuring, and private investment funds.
Outside of work, Elaine enjoys Argentine tango, films, fiction writing, swimming, and skiing.
