Patrick Keating focuses his practice on general civil litigation and regulatory, with a specialization in Commercial and Transportation Litigation, including Trucking, Aviation, Aerospace, Maritime, and Cargo Litigation. Many of his cases involve advanced technologies, multiple failure modes, or intricate business transactions, and he specializes in guiding judges, arbitrators and jurors through these complexities to achieve his client’s goal. He is also well-versed in product liability and employment cases, and CME and Futures Arbitrations. Patrick has argued appeals in the Illinois Supreme and Appellate courts, and in four U.S. Circuit Courts of Appeals (2nd, 3rd, 7th and 9th). He serves as local counsel for other law firms and for large companies which are sued in Chicago, often as counsel for foreign manufacturers and airlines. Patrick handles constitutional cases, class action and the prosecution of complex business disputes, sometimes on a contingency fee basis. He regularly represents his clients not only in courtrooms, but before federal, state and local government bodies and regulatory agencies.
When he is not working to dismantle his clients’ opponents in court, he can be found cleaning, repairing, or restoring old things: cars, cameras, tools, and furniture.

If I didn’t work for a law firm, I’d teach and write on law and political philosophy.
