Mark Rubin is an attorney, CPA, and senior executive with more than 20 years of experience serving as General Counsel, CFO, and COO across private equity, hedge funds, and alternative investment platforms. He has advised on corporate transactions and M&A, fund formation and governance, regulatory and securities compliance, and tax and entity structuring for domestic and offshore entities operating in highly regulated environments.
Mark’s legal and operational background includes leadership roles at Greenhaven Road Capital Management, Anchor Funds, Stride Capital, New Vernon Capital, and multiple private-equity-backed industrial ventures, following foundational experience in corporate law at Altheimer & Gray and financial reporting and audit at Arthur Andersen. He has supported firms ranging from early-stage to $3B+ AUM, overseeing legal strategy, negotiating commercial agreements and credit facilities, coordinating cross-border audits, and managing enforcement matters with outside counsel and regulatory bodies as needed.
As a senior legal advisor, Mark has drafted and negotiated investment agreements, operating and partnership agreements, credit documents, governance charters, management and advisory contracts, and transaction-driven tax and financing structures. His experience spans SEC and Investment Adviser Act compliance, partnership and fund documentation, cross-border entity planning, and the alignment of legal protections with business strategy and investor objectives.

Prior to joining Practus, Mark Rubin spent more than two decades serving in senior executive roles across private equity, hedge funds, and high-growth operating companies. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Compliance Officer of Greenhaven Road Capital Management, overseeing operations, finance, accounting, tax, compliance, and investor-reporting functions for a $1 billion alternative-investment platform. Prior to that, Mark spent ten years as COO and Chief Compliance Officer of Stride Capital and previously served as COO at New Vernon Capital, helping scale that platform to more than $3B AUM. His earlier career includes serving as CFO and General Counsel for private-equity-backed industrial ventures, and foundational roles as a senior auditor with Arthur Andersen and as a corporate attorney with Altheimer & Gray. Mark was also Chief Financial Officer of Anchor Funds, where he modernized the firm’s financial systems, led audits and regulatory compliance, and helped negotiate and close a $100M asset-based credit facility while supporting the company’s subsequent acquisition.
