Bob brings a unique perspective to Practus. Having spent half of his career as an insurance lawyer, and the other half as a client, he offers a practical viewpoint on legal issues coupled with a clear understanding of the challenges facing his clients. For over 30+ years, he has developed a thorough knowledge of state insurance law, regulation, and how to maximize the top and bottom line contributions of a life insurer’s business units. Bob has served as a patient community representative in working with biopharma companies and the FDA with respect to the clinical trial and drug approval process, including inputting into the 2019 FDA Guidance Document on ALS Clinical Trials.

Bob built his career in the insurance industry, spending close to 30 years at New York Life. There he served in many roles, most recently as the Senior Vice President of Advanced Market Network. He has also served on the Board of Director’s of the NJ Life and Health Insurance Guaranty Fund in liquidating Mutual Benefit Life and the NJ business of Executive Life.

Willson v. New York Life Insurance Company. Managed litigation, settlement negotiation and settlement administration of a national sales practice class action lawsuit. The settlement became a model for the industry in settling these cases. Managed a staff of over 200 in administering the settlement.
Liquidation of Mutual Benefit Life and Executive Life insurer insolvencies .Took lead regulatory role in gaining approval of the sale of New York Life’s Canadian branch to Canada Life
