Kenneth R. Earley
Ken's practice focuses on the representation of mutual funds, closed-end funds, exchange-traded funds, employees' securities companies, investment advisers and fund directors. For over 15 years, he has counseled clients on a wide variety of regulatory, compliance, and corporate matters, as well as fund and adviser boards on governance and fiduciary oversight matters. Ken assists clients with the development and launch of new funds, regulatory and compliance matters relating to existing funds, fund reorganizations and adoptions, and requests for no-action and exemptive relief from the SEC. He also advises clients on matters arising from the Commodity Exchange Act and CFTC regulations affecting their businesses, including requirements on commodity pool operators or commodity trading advisors. Prior to joining Practus, Ken worked in the Investment Management Groups of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP and Dechert LLP, and in compliance/regulatory functions at a Boston-based hedge fund and at a Boston-based investment adviser/fund complex.
Ken currently serves as a co-chair of a sub-committee in the Boston Bar Association's Financial Services Section. He also serves on the advisory board of One World Strong Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization founded by victims of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings. In his down time, he enjoys exercising, hiking, biking, and fishing with his wife Erin and family.
