In August 2025 she released her fourth book in a historical fiction series, The Journey of Cornelia Rose. In her spare time, she swims, bikes and skis and jumps on her trampoline with her grandchildren.

Jane Collen co-founded Collen IP, one of the top Intellectual Property firms in the country in terms of both the volume of administrative litigation before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) and business innovation. Based in New York, the firm provided clients with the full spectrum of IP-related services, with a special emphasis on trademark issues, from the initial trademark application process to litigation and other proceedings in defense of contested trademarks. As an early adopter of the technology it helped protect, Collen IP went paperless in 2002.
As with all trademark work, Jane’s practice has a major international dimension, including a global network of associated law firms and companies for whom she has obtained registrations on behalf of clients in over 150 jurisdictions worldwide.
Jane has taken on leadership roles in various professional associations, including the International Trademark Association (INTA) — she has chaired numerous subcommittees. After serving on the INTA’s Trademark Reporter committee writing book reviews, she currently works on the Copyright Policy subcommittee of the Copyright Committee. She founded BusinessPink®, a networking group for women, is active in the international legal network Consulegis and the Chartered Institute for Trademark Agents and is the former chair of the Westchester County Bar Association’s corporate and commercial committee.
Jane lectures frequently on intellectual property law topics, including brand protection and enforcement, domain name disputes, and other legal issues affecting trademarks in the online world. She speaks at companies, universities, professional organizations, and for law professional organizations such as bar associations.
At Practus, we handle complex and challenging legal matters. I look forward to talking to you about how we can best meet your goals.
