ABOUT

Jane F. Collen advises clients across a wide range of industries on all aspects of Intellectual Property law. Assisting clients with the adoption, protection, and enforcement of trademark rights, Jane has been protecting client’s brands for over 30 years. In addition to serving U.S.-based companies, Jane also works with numerous foreign-based companies seeking to protect their IP in the United States.

Recognized as an authority and thought leader in intellectual property law, Jane authors Continuing Legal Education lectures and scholarly and academic articles. She founded a professional networking organization for women in business, BusinessPink®

At Practus, Jane continues her focus on continuity, client service, and innovation in the practice of law. Her role of counsel lends itself to strategic guidance, advocating for her client’s business goals and maintaining her team’s international excellence. She also still speaks as a CLE-accredited lecturer, focusing, as always, on the evolving copyright and trademark challenges engendered by new technology. As a novelist herself she enjoys sharing insights into author branding and copyright issues including those associated with fan-created content and online communities such as fan websites.

When not working, you can find Jane enjoying many pastimes. Her love of writing has thus far spawned a nine book children’s series, The Enjella® Adventures.  In August 2025 she released her fourth book in a historical fiction series, The Journey of Cornelia Rose. In her spare time, she swims, bikes and skis and jumps on her trampoline with her grandchildren.
